What name brand computers are good for gaming, and home use?
Like HP or Dell. Also below $600 would be nice. I don't want a crazy computer, really just enough to be able to run games pretty well and be able to serve me as a home pc also. I don't want to play the super high games, just like flight sims and stuff.
How much does it cost to build a decent gaming computer?
I'm looking to play League of Legends on max settings but I'll also be using this computer for school work and such. My current computer gets like 20 fps on LoL so I'm looking for a BIG upgrade. Would it be cheaper to buy a power supply and a graphics card and just replace it with the parts in my current computer? Or if I do buy brand new parts I'm looking for quad core processor and an 8GB ram at least. The graphics card doesn't have to be super HIGH end because I just want to use it for LoL. Thanks. Most thorough answer gets 5 stars. My budget is $700 but I'm looking to save as much money as possible. Already have a gaming keyboard and decent screen.

What laptop is best for both College and Gaming?
I am looking for a good computer that I could use for college, both in class and out no matter the occasion, be it English papers, Programming, Spreadsheets, etc. Anything fast and reliable. Also something that could handle games like Grand Theft Auto IV and any other high graphics game, that would run smoothly. I've been looking all over and can't find something that I'm real happy with, so I decided to ask for help. Not really picky so I'm up for any suggestions. As long as it can run smoothly with many programs open and also withstand the constant travel around campus, that's the biggest factor. A good graphics card is also a huge plus. So please help me out people! Thanks in advanced! Also, I won't buy a Mac, nor consider it. I am looking to spend between $500-1100 Prescott: Interesting. That one looks insane, and just in my price range. I've came across Alienware before, but I thought it could be a waste of money if I don't game THAT much. Regardless, sick looking laptop. How do you think it would do everyday performance wise? Excluding gaming. Looking Asus computers up right now Janey, Thanks <3 Jbs, Im just not a fan of the MacBooks. My sister had one, and she said they were good as well but the time I spent on it, I just didn't really like it. Maybe I didn't spend enough time on it, because this Toshiba seemed exactly the same, performance wise. But, I will go into Best Buy this weekend and do some research on them/consider it more just for you. Lol. Thanks for the Mac reference.
How many watts of power will I need for my gaming computer?
This summer I plan on building my own gaming PC and assembling it at home because it is cheaper and I like to customize things myself. It is an 850 dollar computer but the specs are exceptional. For the motherboard and processor, I am following a YouTube tutorial. In the YouTube video it says only 500 watts of power are needed, but in the comment section somebody (who was picked for best answer) claims that you actually need at least 630. I am planning on getting a 750 watt battery anyways, but if I don't need to, I'll try and get something cheaper. Brand new desktop gaming machine(self built), crashing almost every game I play?
I've tried Bioshock, Oblivion, Warhammer Online, and Mass Effect. The only game that stays running is Oblivion. They all look beautiful while they play etc. then just crash straight to the desktop out of no where. Vista brings up no error messages or anything of the sort. I have the most up to date Nvidia drivers etc. and can't think of what else to try. Might DirectX10 have any relationship? Specs: MoBo: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P CPU: Intel Q9550 Quad Core GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 260 216Core RAM: 8gigs of G-Skill 1066 As far as I can tell Vista has nothing to do with it. It's also an OEM copy so not sure how many re installs I'm going to be able to get away with hehe. AHHH yes forgot the PSU, yup it's more than adequate. 650watt. Another bit, the reason I build my computers custom is because I pay 900 or so dollars for a PC that is 2x better than the store bought 900dollar one... and doesn't come with a bunch of PoS applications and software that I don't give a rat's ass about. Norton's among them. Absolutely hate that piece of crap.
I need help with buying/building a gaming desktop.?
Hello, I am your average 19 year old video game fan, except unlike most I have literally helpless with computers. I know how to turn it on, launch my games, and from then on I'm king of the Hill. Anything other than the most basic tasks leaves me dazzled. I have no idea how computers work or what makes them work, it's never something that has interested me. However video-games are a personnal passion and I've recently decided to invest in a good gaming desktop. I was doing fine on my old computer but I've recently moved from france and my dad said it wouldn't work here for some reason (again, electronics :S.) My question (or more accurately, request) is what should I do in order to acquire a good PC. I have lurked quite a bit on the internet, and I've quickly turned away from my original idea of purchasing an Alienware Laptop/Desktop since everyone seems to agree that they're terribly overpriced (and that's not even including the warranty, which would be a must in my case.) I don't know of any other gaming-pc makers, but my guess would be that making a custom computer would still be lots cheaper. I really liked the idea of this thread reply: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjDIt5AmsOlxt4eVRfPARVIe5XNG;_ylv=3?qid=20120326083546AAxE0da. Just buying the case and paying some geek or another to upgrade the things inside it sounds good for me. I really don't want to have to buy 1 gazillion different parts that I have no idea what they do/etc.. However I have no idea whether the advised PC would be able to run, amongst others ,LoL and Skyrim, and how well It would work for streaming (Or does that only have something to do with your internet connection?) So should I buy what is suggested on the thread? If so, which 22' monitor, keyboard, and mouse would you recommend to go with it? Or should I just go with an alienware (or other brand) desktop and feel safe for 3 years because of the pricey warranty? Anyways, thanks to those who take the time to answer :D

What are the best brand(s) for desktop/laptop gaming?
I'm just wondering what are the best built, and quality made laptops and desktops for high end gaming? I've been to sites like ibuypower and cyberpowerpc but they just seem kind of unreliable and the only case I liked was a corsair brand because it was quality made out of steel and aluminum. Yeah, don't get me wrong the case's from coolermax and aztec with all the led's looked cool but they just seemed plasticy and cheaply made. I believe you get what you pay for and the only quality laptops i've found are from alienware which look pretty interesting, especially the M17xR3 model but I haven't found any good quality PC chassis besides from corsair and I haven't found any good quality gaming laptops except from alienware so can anyone throw a few top of the line brands out there for me so I know where to look? Just adding one more time this is purely for gaming purposes pretty much.
