what would you recommend as a good gaming pc? I really want a good gaming pc. To take advantage of steams awesome deals. Also games on the pc tend to be cheaper on retail anyway. I just want to get my moneys worth. My budget is $800 to $1000 for just a tower.

Where is the best place to get a custom gaming PC from? I am looking for the best gaming PC between £500-700 and i would like to know where is a good place to get a good deal. What's the problem with using controllers to play pc games? People are making a big deal out of it on the internet and I don't know why. Is it becuase the controller offers a possible aiming advantage? I personally find gaming alot easier with the controller, it's easier on my wrists. Also, why get a 360 or ps3 when a relatively new gaming pc gets better graphics? It just doesn't make any sense.
is it practical to use a gaming PC for homework, like word docs and research? i'm planning on building a pc on my own (i could use help with that; if someone could offer some advice on the hardware specs i should shoot for, that would be helpful- on a different question), and i'm planning on putting it in my room, but the only way that will happen is if i use it for homework. is that a smart idea? homework wouldn't use much memory, if it's just word documents and such, but is there another reason why i shouldn't use a gaming PC for homework?
What is the way forward pc gaming or console? I need to decide what to save up for. I have a ps3 and a pc just good enough to play minecraft on all the highest settings. I need to know which is the way forward. I will either get a gaming pc or a ps4 or xbox 720. Please help!
What are the dangers in building your own computer? I'm not the most computer savvy person, and was just wondering the dangers of building your own pc not knowing all the parts and what they look like? From the information i've gathered, you can get a better deal building it yourself rather than buying a prebuilt, which is why I want to build one. I basically want a good budget gaming pc. Any help is appreciated.
What is a computer that can game, but isn't a gaming computer? Hello Everyone! I am looking for a laptop that like I said can game with ease, not much lag, but it doesn't have to be able to handle like the best graphics. I just bought a $2200 gaming PC, so I don't feel like spending all that much on a laptop, plus I need something portable for school that I can carry around easily. I also really want it to LOOK GOOD!! Sleek, thin please! Well I have seen this in other threads, so here we go! 1. What is your budget? About $800 at most. 2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? I am thinking 13-15" maybe 17" if it is a good deal, because sometimes I do like larger laptops. I would really like it to be thinner, I don't want it to be a tank. 3. What screen resolution do you want? As good as possible with my budget. HD is preferred, but not needed. 4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portable is preferred, nothing massive! I would like it to be thin! 5. How much battery life do you need? About 3-4 hours would be great, more even better! 6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? I want to be able to play Starcraft II, World of Warcraft, Runescape (on High of course not very taxing), Borderlands (High), Minecraft (Normal distance) and other games to come probably. When it comes to Starcraft and WoW I would like high graphics of course but it isn't needed. 7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) Mostly playing music, watching movies and other videos, web browsing, video/photo editing. 8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? As much as possible with the budget. Preferably 500GB or more. 9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. Anywhere that is reputable! I would like to order online. 10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? I plan to keep it for my years throughout Highschool. 11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,BluRay ROM/Writer,Etc ? Anything is fine. I would like it to be able to write/burn DVD's though. Obviously, I want the best I can get! 12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. No preference really, just a good quality laptop, that LOOKS GOOD!! I have had Apple and Asus both of which I really liked. 13. What country do you live in? USA I hope that covers it all. Let me know! Thanks!
How can I convince my parents to get me something expensive? So I've been trying to get a gaming PC for a while and I can get my mom to say maybe and I've not talked to my dad about the monitor and some other stuff. My parents are both divorced but I do have a stepdad and I mainly live with him and my mom. The problem is that my stepdad does not want to spend a ton of money on stuff. He did get me an ATV for my birthday because we're an ATV riding family and all that I know is that ATV has got to be worth $1200-$1500. So here's the main part, to sell my ATV. It would be really hard for me to do and probably emotional but I want to be able to deal with computers when I'm an adult, we also only get to ride for only about 15 hours of an entire year (about 2 trips to the dunes). It's really frustrating for me to have something that I can't ever use and I usually end up hurting myself when I do get to use it (by the way I'm 13 going on 14... one more month) and during that last month I want to get my parents to maybe sell my ATV and get me a gaming PC within this time. I know that my stepdad will say no to selling the ATV and then I won't be able to get a gaming PC. I use XBOX but I try to go to my uncle's house and babysit and he lets me use his gaming PC which I do when my cousin's are sleeping. Also he wants to get a new PC and I want to convince him to let me do a client build for him to give me experience and he could also pay me $50-$150 based on how long it takes. Hopefully I didn't make this too long but I need to so that people can understand my situation. I also have some friends who got gaming PC's and they are pretty nice PC's. Anyways thank's if you do answer hopefully this makes sense to you. I got the ATV as a gift and I can't sell the XBOX because of my stepbrother. I'm going to have my PC in my room and he'd probably save up for a TV to put the XBOX in his room. I also want to build the PC. I find it lame to buy an already built PC no matter what the use for it is.
What AMD processor do you recommend for a budget gaming PC? I'm building my own budget gaming PC and I need help choosing a processor. I want AMD because they're cheaper and better value than intel. Which would you recommend? Id like to play Minecraft with all settings on high with no lag, and maybe a game like Alpha Protocol on medium settings. If you have any other helpful info please share. Thanks
Is it ok to use a OEM version of Windows 7 for a gaming PC? I'm going to be building a gaming/multitasking PC soon and was going to install Windows 7 OEM on it. The reason is that its cheaper but I'm not sure if its usable for a gaming PC. I don't care if it doesn't have all of the Windows programs and will turn of most of the Windows features like Windows updates. So is it ok to use?
PC gamers - What games should I get my boyfriend for Christmas? My boyfriend is big on the whole PC Gaming deal - so I thought getting him a few games for Christmas would be a nice gesture. He just picked up Dead Space, FarCry 2, and Warhammer - Mark of Chaos. I'm hoping with that information you'll have an idea of what he likes and suggest a few games for me to buy? Thanks in advance.
What is the best gaming PC I could make under $1200? I am going to build a new gaming PC. What is the best PC I could make under $1200. Could you please list the parts :) I donot need the monitor, keyboard, mouse or the operating system. And I also have a 1tb drive already
Is there a place I can take in my PC parts and them build it for me? Ok so I am going to buy a gaming PC this Christmas. My dad and I both made a deal we would both pay for half of it. Im 14 btw. Ok so I tried explaining to my dad that it's not the most elaborate thing in the world to build a PC. So anyway, he doesn't believe me and said that you have to have the wiring perfect and make sure all the parts fit together. I've watched numerous videos and instructions on how to build a PC but I don't want to argue with him. So, is there a place where I can take my parts in, and they build the PC? Please hurry since I'll have to tell him soon. We will probably order the parts off of Amazon or Newegg since it's cheaper than buying retail.
Which one is a better gaming pc for the price? I want a New gaming PC, whats better, the Dell XPS 730, or Alienware Area-51 Quad Core Flagship? And why is it better? I want to spend around 1500 plus or minus a few hundred so if you know of a better deal or an idea on how to make my own pc rig myself better, that would be great =] Thanks
How to buy electronics from Craigslist w/o being scammed? I want to purchase a used gaming PC because they're usually like half the price on Craigslist but I'm afraid that when I bring it home, it won't even work.. Any tips for purchasing electronics on Craigslist to ensure you get something that works?
What is the most economical graphics card to buy in order to play games like Orange Box? hey, i'm building a gaming PC and I'm set on getting a graphics card in 2008 that will be crysis dx10 very high settings capable (to my knowledge such a card doesn't exist yet, even the 8800 Ultra can't apparently), but in the mean time I'd like to buy a 7 or cheap 8 series Nvidia graphics card so I can play Orange Box and maybe a few other similar spec game, does anyone have any ideas? thanks!
Some questions about my pc and mozilla firefox and adblocker? I have some questions about my pc and mozilla firefox. First off, I got a custom made pc from my uncle and do not really know any of the specs, other than that it is very powerful and used to be very fast and it is a gaming pc. I have some questions. 1) It seems like my pc was really fast, and then it suddenly slowed down. I thought it was a virus and just removed 47 problems from my pc today and its still kind of slow. Any solutions or suggestions? 2) I just downloaded this stupid toolbar for a survey so I could download this file (I know it was stupid of me to do that) and now there's like 5 ads on every page I go to. I also uninstalled the file I downloaded and the toolbar! I even have adblocker plus on mozilla and it doesn't block it. When I try to report an issue on the page it just stops loading and will never let me submit an error. Any solutions or suggestions? 3) I have been using mozilla firefox and ever since a few weeks ago, firefox often freezes for like 5 seconds, says its not responding, and then works again. It may sound like a small problem but it is really obnoxious. Any solutions or suggestions? 4) Lastly, I run windows 7 and want to know if i should upgrade to windows 8. Is it worth the upgrade?

Where can I buy a custom gaming pc? I'm looking to buy a new gaming PC but I want to get a good deal. I was thinking Alienware, but theirs are pretty pricey and I figured I could get one cheaper elsewhere. I don't want to pay for an alien logo. Does anyone have any recommendations? P.S. I am not able to nor do I have an interest in learning to build my own.
Can somebody help me build a gaming PC? I really want to get a gaming PC but I don't want to just waste money on an alienware just for the logo. Unfortunately I do not know very much about CPU specs and what to get. Can anyone help or suggest me how to make the cheapest gaming PC that can play games like (Skyrim, Bordelands, Call of Duty) I know gaming PC's arent cheap but can you show me the cheapest route to where I can be enjoying the games I listed above. Thank you!
What brand of computer offers the best value? I'm looking to buy a new gaming PC, and want to get the best value for my money possible. If I have ~$1500 to spend, what brand of computer would offer me the most performance for that price (Systemax, iBuyPower, etc.)? Also, what store would sell those computers for the best price (Tiger Direct, Amazon, Micro Center)? Just FYI, I am looking for a desktop, not a laptop.

I'm not that tech-savvy so I'm worried if I build one I'll break something or something might blow up. If I should go premade, what good systems are out there right now? Thanks.

Is there any point in building a gaming PC in 2013? Hey fellas, I was planning on building a gaming pc as it's that much better than console. But I was wondering, I know that console basically holds pc back graphically, because devs. are try to appeal moreso to the console gamers, consequently games on pc never having the 'wow' they could. So I was thinking, seeing as the next console generation is coming around will this time by next year be a better time to build a rig due to new hardware? Or do pc's now have the potential to be next generation anyway? Thanks :)
Why are PC and console games so different in price? When a game is released the price of the game for both PC and consoles is almost the same, but after a few months or 1/2 year the PC games' price starts to drop and becomes lower, yet the console price is still high. Why?

What would be the best online gaming store for PC games and why? Which ones should no longer exist? I have most of my digital games on steam and some on origin. It is very annoying when i buy a game and it uses games for windows live. I would want this service to go away and also i kind of don't like ubisoft uplay. There are also online based video game store that only sell games and are not like steam. These are greenmangaming, getgames, and gamersgate. When I want to buy a pc game i usually browse the steam store and then look at these online websites that sell games for good deals. I have also seen other services like impulse which is now part of gamestop and direct2drive which gamefly bought but these do not interest me for buying games and good deals. What do you think of all these online video game distribution services and which ones do you use?
How can I bypass GameGuard to play Phantasy Star Universe offline? Since the online servers are closed, it should be no big deal. Anyway my friend has this game for PC, he just got it. When he installed it and tried to play it in offline story mode, it gave him a gameguard error. Is there a way to bypass that so he can play the game? I can't get to the nProtect site, it's not there. to Enigma you misunderstood. I Know the online servers are offline. I want to know how to bypass gameguard so my friend can play the story mode which should have nothing to do with gameguard. The servers were shut down years ago for online play. the story mode however works fine on the PS2 version (Which I have) so why should the PC version be any different? I want gameguard gone for story mode only.
How do I get my parents to get me a gaming pc for christmas? It's the only thing I want for christmas http://www.microseconds.net/?page=link_missile we're not poor or anything. How much is a cheap but good gaming pc? I want to get more into PC gaming but my laptop just cant handle games very well, skyrim runs very slow for one and minecraft single player lags more than the mutiplayer (O.o wtf?) Also I'm from the UK
Is this the best gaming pc deal in the world today? I think I may have found one of the best deals for a gaming pc ever. Its a small ebay power seller company called venom electronics with 99.8% positive feedback. It is water cooled with an overclocked pentium q6600 processor to 12ghz (4 cores running at 3ghz each) , 4gb mem, thermaltake case, 3 x SLI 9800 gtx 512mb nvidia graphics cards (yes, 3 of them) and everything else, including a 1 year collect and return warranty. All for £1,360! ($2,700) They told me that it runs cooler than a non overclocked system would with regular air cooling. In the U.S.A everything is generally cheaper than in the UK. For the best dell XPS gaming system (which is no where near as powerful) it costs about £3000 over here ($6000) . The cheapest I found the 9800 gtx for in the uk is £270, that is $540. multiply that by 3 and add the rest and you will always spend at least £2000 ($4000) building it yourself and that wont include a 1 year support warranty either. Considering this, are there better deals out there?
the best gaming pc deal? Could anybody tell what is the best uk gaming pc deal? I only have £800, even if it's not a great pc but it's really cheap because I could upgrade it.

Can anybody find the best gaming pc deal for <£900? Ok can anybody find me the best gaming pc deal for under £900 with a monitor keyboard and mouse included? This is my current deal and I might leave it for a month or two due to the high hdd prices. AeroCool X-Predator Evil Black/Orange Full Tower Chassis Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card 8GB Corsair Vengeance Red (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit - MSI Z68A-G43-B3 Intel Z68 (REV B3) Socket 1155 DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard 850W Corsair TX850 V2 ATX2.3 SLI/Crossfire Compliant Power Supply Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit SP1, Operating System, Single, - OEM 22" Arianet MN22AOCF22+ Widescreen LCD Monitor Ok so all in all this is around 940 and I would like to see if anybody could find a better deal for the UK or Ireland. Actually 960 INCLUDING A HDD AND P+P from Aria.co.uk C-man I plan to have this computer for a really long time and I might crossfire the 6870 or sell it (in a year) and crossfire some of the newer cards as the mobo is crossfire compatible

I would like to update my computer to a gaming pc, but I can't figure out any of the websites. Where could I find a gaming pc that's between $1000 and $1500? If I had some guidance I wouldn't mind building a custom one.
Which is best gaming pc?...? which is better for gaming.... http://www.dell.com/uk/p/performance-deals?3x_page=2&filterCollapsed=false or http://www.ebuyer.com/269042-hp-pavilion-p6792uk-desktop-ll284ea-abu or http://www.ebuyer.com/269036-hp-pavilion-elite-hpe-595uk-desktop-xs623ea-abu i know the second wont be the best, but as i dont want to spend too much money on a gaming pc, i was wondering how much better are the others compared to it and if it is worth spending more money on a better one than that..? Please help, as the offer on the dell ends on the 10th of august.. thanks in advance. :) x
the best deal on a store bought gaming pc? Can somebody suggest a good deal on a new gaming pc... or should I build again. I haven't built in a while and would need to buy everything including an operating system. I haven't really looked into this in years and it looks like there's a new gen of processors coming... or are they here already? So I want a new gen processor, clock speed isn't too important if we can save a buck there. I probably won't over clock. I'd like to try linking a video card just because I never have unless I'd be better off to buy one good single vs two ok linked. Just something powerful enough to run high settings on most things without lag, I might run two or even three monitors but that's not too hard, probably going to start doing some home video stuff and I'd like a video input (again pretty easy) and standard storage these days seems like it would meet my needs. I don't care about bluray or bluetooth. I just need the speed and a good deal on it. What would you do? Buy or build, what to look for, what to expect to pay. Long and detailed answers are better, links help too. Thanx See, see, that's it. The i7 processor. Is that a power saver processor or is that an improvement on the quad... my God. Are they already beyond the Quad 4?
What is the best PC for gaming? I want a quad core because I hear they are the best. I have a budget of 800 but if there was a good deal for 900 or 1000 i might do it. I play counter strike and no im not a little kid. Im just looking for some good knowledge out there.
What is the best Gaming PC? I'm looking at getting a gaming desktop PC and was wondering which company has the best value for the best price. I was looking at a decent Alienware Aurora customized for around $1300 (CAD) it has: 500gb S-ATA HD 16mb cache harddisk drive Intel Core i5 650 Dual Core 3.2GHz with a 4mb Cache (is Core 2 duo better?) ATI Radeon™ HD 5770, 1GB GDDR5 graphics Card (is Nvidia GeForce better?) 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz (i think this is expandable) is this a good deal for the money or are there other companies i should look into/not know about that offer more for less, or more for the same price? THANKS!
Best gaming PC configuration for $2000? I'm looking to buy a gaming PC so i can move away from console gaming forever. I want to be able to play games like Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas, and Mass Effect 3 on high settings, possibly even with extreme texture and photorealistic mods. The thing is, I only want to spend around 2000 USD. I've looked at the Alienware Aurora and configured it with the following specs: Processor- Intel® Core™ i7-3820 Overclocked up to 4.1GHz Memory- 8GB Quad Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz Video Card(s)- 1.25GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 560 Ti HDD- 2TB RAID 0 (2x 1TB SATA 6Gb/s) 7,200RPM Sound Card- Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Xtreme Audio Optical Drive- Single Drive: Dual Layer Blu-ray Reader OS- Windows 7 Home Premium Chasis- Alienware Aurora with ALX Chassis Keyboard- Alienware Multi-Media Keyboard Mouse- Alienware Optical Mouse, MG100 Price: $1,894.00 USD Is this a good deal? And will this configuration be able to preform at the level I need? Or could i make a more powerful computer for less money if i built it from the ground up? If so please point me in the right direction for what i need to be looking for because i'm very new to this, and I don't want to waste my hard earned money on a overpriced piece of equipment.
Gaming PC where to get great deal ? I am waiting for black Friday so I can get a good gaming PC. I have searched through many websites and so far Tigerdirect.com has best deals but I don't see any black Friday ads yet. I am looking for something around 1k. I don't want to play Crysis on max settings but I do want to play some blizzard games like SC2, Wow, Diablo III. Maybe some other upcoming RPG's. New or Refurbished PC would both be fine. I don't want to build it myself because I have never done it before. Any websites that have black friday deals on gaming PCs?
Best gaming laptop under $1,000? What is the best gaming laptop out there for under $1,000? My laptops getting old, it commonly freezes and just cant run games the way I would like it too. I have been really into pc gaming since my friend let me play a game on his laptop. Since, I have purchased one or two games for my laptop, and they run horribly. I can barley play without turning off pretty much all unnecessary services (using Game Booster, btw) For example, playing Minecraft on the lowest settings is quite slow and not very enjoyable. My birthday is coming up, and the amount of money I am willing to spend, and the amount of money my parents are willing to give me comes out to be about a thousand dollars. I don't want to end up spending that much, as I would be pretty much broke, (and owning a gaming laptop without having the money for games is just no fun) so I need to find the best deal on a gaming laptop out there. I have done some research, but don't really know enough to know how well something will run (aside from the systems that are obviously amazing, such as Alienware) Anyway, thanks for the help!

Best premade gaming desktops? Hello, (quick background here: I am 16 and live in USA.) This christmas, with the money I have from working a job all summer, and with a bonus from christmas/birthday (born on dec. 27th) money, I will be getting a new gaming PC. Since I know absolutely nothing about building pcs, I will likely buy a premade. My question is, what pc retailer will give me the best deal on a desktop able to run: GW2, WoW, BF3, MW3, Witcher 2, Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations on max settings? Please don't just say alienware. I have heard many people say that they are over priced. My budget is a max of $2000. I also was hoping for longevity. Where I won't need to replace the computer in 2 years because it won't run any games anymore. Thanks
What is the best gaming console? Should I build a gaming PC? I've gone through several Crap-Box 360s, on my first PS3 and really like it a lot but I notice with actual consoles you're limited with games such as Halo is only for Crap-Box and there are some that are exclusives for PS3 and Zeldas for Nintendo. My deal is I'm kinda thinkin' about building me a gaming computer like I should've done 4yrs ago. So many more games for PC and the games that are exclusives I'm sure you can find somewhere on the internet to play on the PC. Just lookin' for opinions.
How can i return an open pc game at best buy? I bought Assassins creed for my laptop, I read the details on back but when i got home I found out that my graphics card and processor were one model below what the game needs. Does any body have any ideas on how I could take it back without dealing with a best buy employee giving me crap about the copy right law?

Good/Best gaming desktop pc? Earlier I posted a topic with a dell computer that I built and was thinking about buying but I found a way better deal at HP. What im asking though is would you consider this build (below) top of the line? I want to run games like C&C Red Alert 3 and newer / future games that will come out. Of course I know a few years from now I might have to upgrade again, how many years do you think I will get out of this setup: Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 AMD Phenom(TM) II X4 940 quad-core processor [3.0GHz] 6GB DDR2-800MHz dual channel SDRAM [2x2048,2x1024] 500GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive 1GB ATI Radeon HD 4850 [2 DVI, HDMI and VGA adapters] Blu-ray player & Lightscribe SuperMulti DVD burner Premium Wireless-N LAN card and Bluetooth(R ) Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium I think the price isn't too bad, very affordable. $2,289.96 That price includes other things aswell I just didnt list them, for example: HP w2207h 24 -inch widescreen flat panel monitor The total of the PC itself is $1,499.99.
What is the best to place your keyboard and mouse on while gaming on pc hooked to a TV? Ok, here is the deal. I have my computer hooked to my big screen. I need either a new chair or a stand to set my mouse and keyboard on. I can't find a gaming chair or something that would suit me for an comfortable gaming experience, and ideas? I want something that I can game for a long period of time. just lying on the floor or hunched over with a keyboard on my lap isn't meant for extended periods of time :(
Best PC games for the female gamer? I've played a stupid variety of games. World of Warcraft and Dragon age, to Sims and Nancy Drew. I don't mind gore, but don't want to deal with 10gig+ games either. Strategies like Starcraft or war games are not my forte. Anything, really, I'm just looking for a new game.
