Do these gaming pc specs look right to you? I am wanting to build a gaming PC, but something feels off about the parts I am about to order... I am afraid that when I order them they won't work together and render my PC useless. Motherboard: ASRock H61M-DGS LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Cpu: Intel Pentium G620 RAM: 2x2 GB Crucial Technology - 2GB PC3-8500 DDR3 DIMM Desktop Memory Graphics Card: Radeon HD 4850 PSU: CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply Please answer, thanks. Well it plays BF3, DayZ and many other games in mid settings so it is good for me... You go ahead and waste 2000$ on a computer that does slightly better.
How many watts of power will I need for my gaming computer? This summer I plan on building my own gaming PC and assembling it at home because it is cheaper and I like to customize things myself. It is an 850 dollar computer but the specs are exceptional. For the motherboard and processor, I am following a YouTube tutorial. In the YouTube video it says only 500 watts of power are needed, but in the comment section somebody (who was picked for best answer) claims that you actually need at least 630. I am planning on getting a 750 watt battery anyways, but if I don't need to, I'll try and get something cheaper. How much would it cost to build a good gaming computer and what parts do I need? My computer is getting worse and worse everyday and I can't play anything on it, so I'm planning on building a nice gaming PC as a project with my dad. So, what parts would I need to make a pretty decent one able to run LoL, Skyrim, and relatively high requirements? Also, how much would they all cost? I have a price range up to about $600-$700. Is it cheaper to build a pc or buy one? Looking for a good computer. Not a super gamer pc. A pc for a first time user. So, in other words, a cheap one that is still fast enough to handle a few high demand programs. By high demand programs I mean a program that designs virtual buildings for builders. So I don't know if that would be intense graphics consumption or what.

What to look for in a gaming computer? As a college student, I am looking for an affordable gaming desktop PC. From what I have researched the graphics card is key but I want to invest in a quality product. I would like to be able to run games such as World of Warcraft and Smite which require some pretty high end graphics as well as storage and CPU. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should look for affordable gaming desktops, what brand to look into, and what features I should consider? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

I usually buy premade ones (laptops) but i know that building a computer can save lots of money and i have a couple (maybe more questions) about building and all the stuff that i need. Motherboard:ASRock H77M Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard $69.99 Memory:G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $62.99 Power Supply:Corsair Builder 500W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V Power Supply$59.99 Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive$55.20 Case:NZXT Tempest 210 ATX Mid Tower Case $59.99 Video Card:Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 2GB Video Card$270.42 $270.42 Operating SystemMicrosoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)$89.98 CPUIntel Core i5-3450 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor $193.98 + Shipping All adds to $862.54 Is this the computer i am looking for? I also have more questions like can i reuse the case for my 12 year old computer? Is the price worth it for the kind of computer im looking for. And should i take any precautions on building the computer? What if i break something? Another important thing i have to say is that i have no idea what all the numbers and stats on the stuff is about. I have no experience whatsoever on anything about building a computer. Please help.

By answeting this question you can save a persons life? I am 13, and a gamer. Like most boys; however, I have a bit of a problem. Just to put this in to perspective I will describe my current situation/lifestyle: I get up and do last nights homework, eat, go to school, get home and play for the rest of the night (school day). Weekends: Get up, play for about 6 hours, eat, then play until 1-4 in the morning. I know, it is terrible, but its the truth. I have at least come to the conclusion that I am addicted, but I need to know how to solve it. Sorry if his sounds rude, but I don't want the usual answers like reduce time and put a timer on it. I have already taken many precautions to help me rid of this.( Uninstalled all games from my computer except for three, I don't want to full out quit, I still like doing it, it just is controlling my life at the moment; I am selling my Xbox as it is just a waste of money at the moment, and later down the road I might have to sell my gaming computer and get just a normal laptop to quench the urges or at least make me unable to act upon them). I do pretty well in school. I am taking two advanced classes( math and french, because those are the only ones offered in my school). But I have noticed my grades have slipped a point or two, I still have a 4.0 GPA, but that is basically all I have at the moment, because all of my "achievements" have been in the virtual world. Plus, my family doesn't know me, and I don't know my family because of the gaming. It is like talking to a stranger every day, with 2 second conversations that start and end with hello. Basically, the questions I need answered are: 1. How do I stop being addicted to gaming but still game, as I like it as a hobby, but it is controlling my life at the moment 2. How do I become social again? I have lost all of my knowledge with communicating with other people in the flesh, when it isn't gaming related, I usually don't join the conversation. I don't want to be like that. I am a huge computer nerd, I build computers, want to become a PC repairman/builder, and those are my interests. (I forgot to mention that I do fighting; going to karate tournaments and sparring) 3. How do I avoid becoming addicted again if I can ever become a non-addict? Huge thanks to anyone that takes the time to read this and save a kids future/life
What's the most annoying thing you encounter playing video games? Looking for everything but the game sucks or it was too short. More along the lines of console gripes or where you have to play or something along those lines. I was looking for things that wasn't about a particular game but in general like not having a built-in way to record something you did to show someone else.
What is the best entry level/mid range graphics card ? I am building a custom budget gaming pc and need a little help The graphics cards i am considering are: Sapphire AMD Radeon HD7870 Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Sapphire AMD Radeon HD7850 Asus DirectCU ATI Radeon HD6870 MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX650Ti Sapphire ATI Radeon HD7770 ghz edition Power Color ATI Radeon HD6790 I was originally going to get the 7770 ghz but then I realised that the GPU is the most important thing and i need a better one. The 7870 stretches my budget to far though. I think the 7850 is the best choice. The thing is my budget is extremely tight and I am completely lost on what card to chose. I am looking for: bang for buck price vs. performance i.e if there is a big price gap between two cards the performance must really stand out. i want to run any game on high and i do not want to upgrade within next 2-4 years. i know that is too much to ask given the price range but what I mean is I just want a good card. So far the rig I am hoping to get: i5 3570k Power supply: Corsair Builder Series CX500 High Performance 80+ PSU Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K (3.4GHz, 6M Cache, 4x Cores) CPU Heat sync and cpu fan: Standard Heat sink & CPU Fan (integrated) Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G43 Z77 Chipset SATA3 6.0Gb/s USB 3.0 MB RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz High Performance RAM Graphics card: Don’t know HDD: 500 gb 7200RPM SATA3 6.0Gb/s HDD Main optical drive: 24x Dual Layer DVD +/- Writer Could you please advise me on what to do? All advice is welcome Thanks !

Can i use all the controls on the case? Will this run on a 500w power supply? Can i use the card reader? Do i need anything else? (more cables, etc.) Will/Should it be quiet? First time gaming PC builder, what graphics card? It seems like Nvidia isn't the way to go as far as GPU, but I was trying to find out what graphics card would be able to do my only request: Run any game on full settings on a single, non-3D, 1080p monitor. Any suggestions/answers would be appreciated.
how hard is it to build a powerful gaming PC? i am 14 and i just got my first laptop (13" MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz) i decided i really liked computer gaming and, as most people know, Mac's aren't ANY good for gaming. i was reading up on Gaming PC's (has to be a desktop), and i heard you can get a better (and cheaper) machine if you build your own, rather than buy an Alienware or something. i am very good with building and taking apart stuff, and i think im up to the challenge. my friend's dad is also a custom gaming PC builder so i could also go to him if i needed any help. i'd like it to be able to play Crysis on high settings Spec's i'd like Processor: Intel i5 Storage: 500GB RAM: 4GB...8GB if possible Graphics: ati radeon hd 5970 Cooling system: Fan based Body: Aluminum Drive's: DVD or Bluray (doesnt matter that much to me) Ports: 2 USB, 1 SD, 1 Audio In/Out, Ethernet, charging port can you please give me a rough idea of how much this would cost, and how hard it would be? Thanks =) oh, and one more question, would i be able to run Mac OS X on this? or would it affect the performance? Thanks

Help With Building A Gaming PC? My current pc is getting old and I’m planning on getting a new one. i decided to build my own pc. This is my first time building a pc from the ground and my knowledge is very basic. So I would like some help from a more experienced pc-builders. I should also mention this pc will be primarily used for gaming and browsing the internet (youtube, etc.). And this is what I have built so far: Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LE RAM memory: Corsair Vengeance, 16 GB: 4 x 4 GB, DDR3 - 1600 MHz CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K (Ivy Bridge) 3.5GHZ Quad-core GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7970 Computer Case: Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Power supply: Corsair Gaming Series GS800 (800W) Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 (2TB) Mouse: Razer DeathAdder CPU cooler: Scythe Mugen 2 rev.B SCMG-2100 Disk drive: Sony Optiarc DDU1681S Headset: SteelSeries Siberia v2 I'm not going to buy a monitor because i have a perfectly working 26 inch screen at home and i will buy the keyboard at a local store. I pretty sure all the pieces are compatible but if that’s not the case could you please tell me :) Also tell me if I need to change some pieces so maybe I’ll get more quality for my money’s worth. I like playing games at 60 fps and I’ll be playing some pretty heavy games (Skyrim, battlefield 3, assassin's creed) and I read that the Radeon HD7970 is capable of doing this but maybe you know of a GPU that can also do this. All help is much appreciated :D

Is this a Good gaming PC? This IS NOT a troll question. these are legitimate parts and are no where near being top of the line, But I am curious what experienced PC builders think of my PC. Good for first gaming pc build? I posted my original gaming build last night, but after getting some good input this is the new list I've come up with. Just wanted to know if it was a good set up for a first time pc builder and good for running a game like Star Wars: The Old Republic and web surfing. In the future I might be doing video editing, but nothing extremely advanced. All help is wonderful! This is my budget: $500 I would love to put more towards a pc but I really can't so if you know of parts that are equal value but better I would love to know of them. Or if I needed to put more money towards a specific part while sacraficing for another that would be fine. I have a few grand to spare to build a gaming PC and I don't want to lose it on a fake website. thanks. If you're going to suggest other online PC builders, can you choose the ones that ship to New Zealand. Thanks.

Question for PC builders? How could good of a gaming PC could I build with a $2,500 budget? Any other info I should know? I'm a first time PC builder and i've taught myself all the basics. I want to be able to throw any game I want at it with no problem with maximum performance. You can exclude the moniter, keyboard, mouse out of the price. Although I plan on majorly using this for gaming i'll be doing some video editing as well but not business, just youtube and video game montage's and such. I would like it to be a while before having to upgrade so any parts reccomendations would be awesome! I'm kinda thinking of waiting on the AMD Bulldozer bc AMD is known for cheap prices and are good to gamers which in term would give me some more cash to spend on a graphics card. Any extra info would be nice like how much RAM I should need and my last question is should I get two graphics cards to run in SLI like two one 580 now and another one later or should I just wait and get one powerful graphics card? I'll be using a 1920x1080 rez moniter also if that helps any. I'm having a hard time not overkilling my PC lol, so some alot of good info will be very helpful and be a definate best awnser. I'm just trying to be future proof as possible without causing overkill.

Tips on Custom PC Gaming Build? I'm building a computer for the first time, and after a ton of researching these are the part i've come up with. Possibly two, since I like the functionality of 2 monitors. :P -Hopefully someone can shed some light on whether or not the CPU comes with thermal paste, it would be helpful. If not, I'll probably buy something from Arctic Silver. -Will the 6850 be able to handle anything I throw at it? ENB Series mods, Tesselation, DX11?

Build PC's to resell? is it worth it? I would like to build PC's to resell for a side income, but is it worth my time? being buyers would not get a warranty and all that stuff like if they bought one in a store! i have watched pc builders on ebay (where i would sell on too) and the pc's never really seem to sell good if at all? mostly the expensive gaming pc's NEVER seem to sell or get bids? if i were to pursue this where would i start and what kind of pc;s are sellable you could say, and mostly what price range is a must to sell em once there built? you know because like myself everyone is a penny pincher that wants everything for nothing..ha ha
Is this a good pc for gaming? Hey there guys, so I'm not much of a "pc builder", and I really want to upgrade my computer. Right now, all i have is a laptop that has grown far out of date. I was wondering if this desktop, the Widow WGMA-178G00 AMD Athlon was any good? My cousin has a widow, and it works very well. The specs are AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8Ghz Dual Core Processor AMD 785G Chipset 2GB High Speed DDR2-800 Memory (1x2GB) Western Digital 500B SATA-II Hard Drive RAID 0/1/10 Capable 22X DVD-RW Burner w/Lightscribe Technology NVIDIA GeForce GT220 1GB Video Card DirectX 10 Support PhysX Ready Integrated 10/100/1000 Gigabit LAN 6 x SATA-II Ports 6 x USB 2.0 Ports (Expandable to 10) (1) PCI-e x16 / (1) PCI-e x1 / (2) PCI 8 Channel High Definition Audio Clear Side Panel 585 Watt Power Supply 7.25” x 18.25” x 16.75” Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Specifically, I'm looking to use games such as "Skyrim", "Star Wars the Old Republic", "Shogun 2: Total War", "Dawn of War 2", and "Diablo 3". Will this pc handle that on high settings? Thanks a ton!

Potential gaming PC build - mind checking for compatibility? I've been wanting to build my own PC ever since a guy in high school built his own. Soon, my time may come - my laptop I received as a graduation gift is slowly getting to the point where it's hard to do anything but surf, listen to online radio, and do the occasional paper. This upcoming semester, I'm going to try to fulfill my high school dream - but since this is my first build, I'm hoping to get some help from some experienced builders. Since I'm still going to be a college student, my budget is still pretty tight (if I can get everything, including monitor, mouse, and keyboard, for under $850, I'll be happy) - but I found a site where I can build a gaming system for around $750 (<http://computershopper.com/feature/the-750-gaming-power-system>). Most of their parts aren't available at Newegg.com anymore, so this is what I came up with. But this build mentioned [as per 12/3/10] will cost about $650 - monitor and keyboard/mouse combo, $780. Therefore, I have room to adjust to meet compatibility and still meet my budget. As for OS, my one uncle said he'd get me Windows 7 Home Premium when I got the system, and I can recycle my Microsoft Office software, from what I understand from the EU license agreement. Anyways... if someone can get back to me before the end of January, I can tweek my build before I try to make it and find out that I'm an idiot.

A question for PC Builders on CPU Watts. AMD Users please? Thanks for taking the time to check out my question My build is as follows: Motherboard Asus M2N-E DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, Widsor 2.2 GHz 4200+ 89W G Skill DDR2 800 3 GB Silvertone 360W ATX PowerSupply XFX GeForce 7300GS 512MB PCe x16 Seagate 320 SATA I built my PC in 06 with all the hardware from Newegg, and I never came across any hardware problems. I want to upgrade my PC for some moderate Gaming (like Assassins creed or Devil may cry 4), so I'm not looking to overclock. I'm thinking about upgrading to a Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz AM2 125W. And for video a EVGA 256MB GeForce 8600 128-bit GDDR3. My main concern is the CPU since the Video card doesn't require additional power. I'm afraid of pushing my Mobo from a 89W to a 120+W on only a 360W power supply. Am i just paranoid? or is there any justified reasoning. Is this a good Idea? Thanks for your time I appreciate it.

Are there any good reasonably priced custom PC builders left? A number of years ago I bought barebone PCs from Monarch Computer and ABS. Monarch has apparently gone belly up, and ABS has apparently gone for the hardcore gaming crowd, as they are now out of my price range. For the last several years I've been using a docked Sony Vaio SZ220 as my primary computer. I don't regret it, but my needs have changed and I have decided that I'm probably going to replace the laptop with a desktop, and buy a netbook for times when I need to be portable. Bottom line is that I want to be able to custom build a desktop computer without the hassle of actually having to build it. I don't need anything fancy, just solid. Can anyone recommend a PC builder that does good work without having to spend a fortune?
